The Red Scare was just the beginning. Starting out as a modern country with an abject horror towards the idea of abolishing private property, the general masses of the United States have long since had the rude awakening of realizing whose interests this mentality has truly been serving: The bigger fish.

Horror has ALWAYS been a reflection of political anxieties, from its birth to its current evolution. Life is full of deep-seated concerns, and nowhere does this stand more prominently in the adult phobia of financial insecurity. Money makes the world go round, and it also puts food on the table and shelter around it. So how is this implemented in a horror lens, where such anxieties are exaggerated to their most terrifying?
